Solstice - Solo exhibition at Skerries Mills, 2017

This exhibition was part of the prize for ‘winner of people’s choice awards’, with Skerries art waves 2017.

”I choose oranges as they represent a ‘zest’ for life and tied in with the summer ‘Soltice’, While the summer solstice represents the midpoint of the year and a time of new beginnings, it is also the highest point of energy for the year”. I also used a lighting technique to recreate the light seen in the various passage tombs at this time of year. The plein air landscapes were painted while in Crete, Greece and also on a painting trip with Dave West group in Carcassonne, France.
